ALLIANCE – The No. 14 ranked Mount Union men's basketball team 99-72 against Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday at Timken Gymnasium.
The Purple Raiders have now won 10 games in a row and are 18-3 overall and remain in first place in the OAC with a 13-1 record.
Nathan Bower-Malone (Stow) scored 19 and led four Mount Union players in double figures. Braeden Poole (McDonald) had 17, Collen Gurley (Akron / Hoban) had 15 and D'Vontay Friga (Cuyahoga Falls) had 14 points.
Dallas Patrick had a game-high 28 points to lead Otterbein (6-15, 3-11 OAC).
Mount Union ran out to an 18-6 lead in the game's opening five minutes, but Otterbein rallied over the next 10 minutes to eventually tie the game at 32-32. The Raiders then finished the half on a 22-2 run with Bower-Malone scoring 11 points as Mount Union led 54-34 at the break.
The Raiders would stretch the lead to 30 points in the second half before the 99-72 final.
Mount Union next takes on No. 16 Marietta in an OAC matchup Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in Marietta, Ohio.
