Men's Basketball: Purple Raiders Crack Top 5 In D3Hoops.com Men's Top-25 Poll

Mount Union's men's basketball team moved up two to No. 5 in the nation in this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 poll and earned a first-place vote.

This is the highest ranking for the Purple Raiders in the Top-25 poll since it began in 1999-2000.

Mount Union won the Ohio Athletics Conference tournament with wins over Otterbein in the quarterfinals  75-57, Heidelberg in the semifinals97-66 and John Carrol in the finals 85-74.

Mount Union will host the first and second rounds of the 2020 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Friday and Saturday, March 6-7 at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance, Ohio.

Friday's first round matchups feature the host Purple Raiders against Cairn (Pa.) at 7:30 p.m. after a game between York (Pa.) against St. John Fisher (N.Y.) at 5 p.m.
