Men's Basketball: Bower-Malone and Fuline Earn Two All-Region Awards

Mount Union's senior guard Nathan Bower-Malone (Stow) and head coach Mike Fuline have been named to the Great Lakes All-Region Team by both the NABC and

Bower-Malone earned Great Lakes Player of the Region for and first team All-Region by the NABC. This is the first time a Mount Union men's basketball player earned Player of a Region by and the fourth time a Mount Union player earned first team by the NABC.

Fuline earned Coach of the year in both Great Lakes All-Region selections. This is just the second time in Fuline's career he has earned the region coach of the year.

Fuline and Bower-Malone led the Purple Raiders to a 27-3 record, the most wins in a season in school history. Mount Union won both the regular season title and the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament title and clinched a birth in the NCAA Tournament for just the third time.

The Raiders advanced to the Sweet 16 with an 107-76 win over Cairn (Pa.) in the first round and a 90-77 win over York (Pa.) in the second round.

Bower-Malone led the Raiders in scoring 17.4 points per game and 5.2 assists per game. He started in all 30 of Mount Union's games and was named OAC Player of the Year earlier this season.

Bower-Malone finishes his career as the third most prolific scorer in Mount Union history with 1,485 career points. Bower-Malone also broke the school record for points in a game with 53 and career games record with 110 games played in his four-year career.
