ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) bested a 20-year old school record in the indoor pole vault at the Toy Drive Invite Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse.

Orewiler, who earned All-American honors in the indoor pole vault a year ago, went 16-feet, 10-inches, to win the event and beat the mark of 16-9.5 that was set in 1995 by Matt Keller.

It was one of six event titles for the Purple Raiders at the unscored season opening event.

Sophomore Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) sprinted his way to wins in the 200 meters (22.97) and 500 meters (1:06.96).

Junior Zach Wukotich (Salem/Salem) won the high jump with best mark in the nation so far this season at 6-9.

Junior Chad Bosel (Lisbon/David Anderson) won the 800 meters (2:02.85) while senior Andrew Milhoan (East Sparta/Sandy Valley) won the 60 meter hurdles (8.45) to round out the event winners.

Mount Union next hosts the OAC Split Meet on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Peterson Fieldhouse.
