Men's Track & Field: Mount Union Wins OAC Split Meet; Wukotich 3rd in Nation in High Jump

Final Results

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's indoor track and field team, ranked fifth in the nation, won the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet Friday at Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders tallied 171 points to finish 21 points ahead of second place Ohio Northern.

Zach Wukotich (Salem/Salem) won the high jump and his mark of 6-9.5 is currently third best in NCAA Division III this season.

Andrew Milhoan (East Sparta/Sandy Valley) won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.35 to sit eighth-best in the nation.

Other event winners came from Louis Berry (Pittsburgh/Shady Side Academy) in the 60 meters (7.01), Alex Wilson (Macedonia/Nordonia) in the 3,000 meters (8:43.97), Matt O'Neil (Woodridge, Va./Pope John Paul) in the 1 mile (4:26.29), Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) in the 400 meters (51.99), Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) in the pole vault (16-6.75) and Ty Menear (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 800 meters (2:00.47).

The 4x200 meter relay team of Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth), Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore), Etzler and Chad Gentry (Louisville/Louisville) also won with a time of 1:33.24.

Mount Union runs next Saturday, Jan. 30 at the SPIRE Invitational at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
