Men's Track & Field: #4 Mount Union Wins Two Events at Rick Meindl Last Call

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's indoor track and field team, ranked No. 4 in the nation, won two events at the Rick Meindl Last Call Saturday at Capital University in Columbus.

The Purple Raiders got wins in the pole vault from Travis Price (Danville / Loudonville) with a mark of 13-feet, 1.5-inches and in the weight throw from Tyler Shumate (Wapakoneta / Spencerville) with a mark of 54-feet, 6 inches.

Three second place finishes came from Tyler Neff (Navarre / Fairless) in the 400 meters (50.02), Nick Thomas (Louisville / Louisville) in the 5000 meters (15:56.93) and Ty Menear (Brunswick / Brunswick) in the 1000 meters (2:32.08).

Bailey Gannon (North Ridgeville / North Ridgeville) placed in pair of jumps taking third in the long jump (22-7) and fifth in the triple jump (40-2.25) to round out the top performances.

Mount Union competes next week at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
