ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's track and field team, ranked No. 17 in the nation, won six events at the John Homon Open on a cold Sunday at Mount Union Stadium.
The event wins came from freshman Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) in the 110 meter hurdles (15.17), junior Jaquill Scott (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) in the javelin (189-11), junior Darrin Reddus (Pepper Pike/Orange) in the triple jump (41-6), senior Zack Wukotich (Salem/Salem) in the high jump (6-6.75), senior Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) in the pole vault (16-4) and the 4x100 meter relay team of junior Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore), senior Tyler Gentry (Louisville/Louisville), sophomore Josh Weber (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) and freshman Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shadyside Academy) at 42.11.
Second place finishes came from Orewiler in the 100 meters (11.48), Weber in the 200 meters (22.64), junior Ty Menear (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 800 meters (1:57.27) and junior Josh Hudson (North Ridgeville/North Ridgeville) in the high jump (6-4.75).
The top performances were rounded out by third place finishes from freshman Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) in the 100 meters (11.61), sophomore Jalen McGill (Laurel, Md./High Point) in the 200 meters (22.74) and senior Brad Keller (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) in the javelin (173-4).
Mount Union returns to the track next Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
