MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The No. 20 ranked Mount Union men's track and field team posted three season-best marks to headline the day at the Allegheny Gator Invitational Friday in Meadville, Pa.
Freshman Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) won the 110 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.54 that is 14th best in NCAA Division III this season.
The other two season bests came from the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless), Tyler Sparks (Norwalk/Norwalk), Clark Etzler (Elida/Elida) and Chad Gentry (Louisville/Louisville) ran a time of 3:15.42 to sit 10th in the nation in the event.
The 4x100 meter team of Gentry, Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shadyside Academy), Andrew Shrewsbury (Woodville/Woodmore) and Tyler Orewiler (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) posted a time of 41.54 that is ranked 13th in the nation.
The Purple Raiders also won three other events on the day.
Orewiler won the pole vault and set a stadium record with a mark of 17-feet, 0.75-inches, junior Jaquil Scott (East Hanover, N.J. / Hanover Park) won the javelin (187-9) while sophomore Jalen McGill (Laurel, Md. / High Point) won the long jump (22-8).
Mount Union competes next Thursday, May 19 at the Ron Altoff Last Chance Meet at Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio.
