ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union junior Connor Troyer (Sugarcreek/Garaway) matched his own school record in the 60 meter indoor hurdles at the Toy Drive Invite Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.
Troyer, who matched his own school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.07, won the title in the 200 meters (22.64) and helped lead the Purple Raiders to wins in 10 events at the season opening indoor track event.
The other individual event winners included sophomore Matt Keim (Bolivar/Tusky Valley) in the pole vault (14-7.25), freshman Jordan Hiatt (Berea/Berea-Midpark) in the high jump (6-6.75), freshman Cody Fitzwater (Dalton) in the long jump (21-0), senior Raphael Tshikala (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) in the triple jump (44-4.75), senior Tyler Neff (Navarre/Fairless) in the 400 meters (50.69), freshman Alex Leeper (Cambridge) in the 60 meters (7.16).
A pair of relay teams alsow claimed wins -- the 4x400 meter team of sophomore Jake Meeks (Massillon/Perry) along with freshmen Isaac Phillips (Milford, Mich./Milford), Alexander Ventura (Berlin/Hiland) and Mark Worley (North Canton/Hoover) and the 4x200 meter team of juniors Sam Printy (Sandusky/Perkins) and Josiah Ross (Beloit/West Branch) with sophomores Stephen Stott (Mogadore) and Josh Perry (Cuyahoga Falls).
Mount Union will not be in action again until January 20, 2018 at the Ohio Athletic Conference Split Meet at Baldwin Wallace.
