Logan Meister has been elevated to assistant coach of the Mount Union men’s wrestling program after joining the Purple Raiders as a coaching consultant in 2025.
In his first season at Mount Union, Meister helped guide six wrestlers to NCAA Regional podium finishes while contributing to the program’s success in the classroom. The Purple Raiders produced five NWCA Scholar All-Americans and finished 18th nationally in the NWCA Scholar All-America Team standings.
Before arriving in Alliance, Meister served as the head men’s wrestling coach at Ferrum College. Named the third head coach in program history in June 2021, Meister guided wrestlers to the NCAA Division III Championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Meister’s career at Ferrum spanned the program’s entire NCAA Division III era. A member of Ferrum’s first recruiting class, he went on to become the program’s first NCAA All-American as a wrestler and later served as its final head coach at the Division III level. In Ferrum’s final Division III season, Meister led the Panthers to their best NCAA Tournament finish in program history, placing 15th nationally among 74 teams in 2025. Under his leadership, Ferrum also set a program record with four NWCA Scholar All-Americans in a single season, achieved its highest-ever NWCA national ranking with a top 10 tournament team ranking, and broke program fundraising records for both total donors and dollars raised.
During his tenure, Rayshawn Dixon earned All-America honors with a fifth-place finish at 285 pounds in 2024. In 2025, Dixon and Zach Beckner (125) each placed fourth nationally, earning their second career All-America honors.
Meister originally joined Ferrum’s coaching staff in 2017 before serving as a graduate assistant wrestling coach at McDaniel College during the 2018-19 season. He returned to Ferrum in 2019 as an assistant men’s wrestling coach and served as the program’s strength and conditioning coach.
As a student-athlete at Ferrum, Meister became one of the most decorated wrestlers in program history. A three-time NCAA Division III Championships qualifier, he became Ferrum’s first NCAA National Qualifier in 2014, first NCAA Regional Champion in 2016 and first NCAA All-American after placing sixth at 157 pounds in 2016. He also won back-to-back Pete Willson Invitational titles in 2016 and 2017 and was named the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler in 2017.
A 2017 Ferrum graduate, Meister earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors in 2016 and 2017 and received Ferrum’s prestigious President’s Cup in 2017, becoming the first wrestler in program history to earn the award. He earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology from McDaniel College in May 2020.
