Derek Currey is in his third year as an assistant men's and women's swimming coach at Mount Union.

Currey is familiar with the Purple Raider program as he was a four-year letterwinner at Mount Union, who earned all-conference honors as part of the 800 free relay team in 2018. He competed in the conference championship meets in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly and 200 IM events.

A native of McDonald, Pa., and graduate of West Allegheny High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education at Mount Union.
