ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union's volleyball team (13-3, 0-1 OAC)
went 1-1 at the Wooster Tri-match on Saturday, September 22.
Wittenberg (17-0), the #2 ranked team in the nation according to
the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), defeated the
Purple Raiders in the first match, 3-0, (27-30, 23-30, 20-30) but
the Raiders bounced back to defeat host Wooster (6-11) by a 3-0
score (30-25, 30-27, 30-17) in their second and final match of the
day.
Against Wittenberg, Mount Union's Melissa
Mahnke had 15 kills and Amanda
Kohler had eight. Sarah
Dean had 21 digs. Tracy
Reschke had 13 digs and 33 assists.Versus Wooster, Sarah
Parker had 16 kills and Monica
Hupertz had 11. Alexi
Sawayda had 16 digs and Nicole
Baka tallied 13. Reschke contributed 40 assists.
Mount Union travels next to Baldwin-Wallace on Friday, September
25, starting at 7:00 p.m.
