ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union College's volleyball team bounced back from back-to-back losses for the first time in over a year with a 3-0 sweep (25-7, 25-22, 25-12) of Otterbein College in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Wednesday at Timken Gynasium in Alliance.
The win lifted the Purple Raiders to 15-5 overall and evened their mark at 1-1 in the OAC, while Otterbein fell to 5-14 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
Mount Union got 10 kills from junior outside hitter Melissa Mahnke (North Royalton/North Royalton) and nine from sophomore Elyse Perry (Springfield/Springfield Shawnee), 29 assists from freshman setter Julie Raidgan (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) and sophomore defensive specialist Michelle Simmons (Uniontown/Green) had 12 digs.
Mount Union next travels to Baldwin-Wallace College for an OAC match Saturday at 1 p.m. in Berea, Ohio.
