(MARIETTA, Ohio)--Junior outside hitter Melissa Mahnke (North
Royalton/North Royalton) had 20 kills to lead the Mount Union
College volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21) Ohio
Athletic Conference road victory at Marietta College Tuesday in
Marietta, Ohio.
It was the third time this season that Mahnke had 20 or more
kills in a match and lifted the Purple Raiders record to 18-7
overall, but more importantly 4-2 in the OAC with just three
conference matches left in the regular season. Marietta falls to
13-11 overall and 1-4 in the OAC.
Aside from Mahnke, senior Sarah Parker (Geneva/Geneva) continued
her strong play as she hit .346 with 11 kills and five blocks.
Freshman Julie Radigan (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) tallied 34
assists, while junior Nicole Baka (Streetsboro/Streetsboro) had 17
digs to round out the leaders for Mount Union.
The Purple Raiders take on Wilmington College in an OAC match
Saturday at 1 p.m. then face Hiram College at 3 p.m. in a tri-match
in Hiram, Ohio.
