(BEREA, OH)--Mount Union College's men's soccer team gave No. 7
in the nation Baldwin-Wallace College all they could handle in a
2-0 loss in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener Saturday night in
Berea.
Mount Union falls to 5-5-1 overall and 0-1 in the OAC,
while B-W remains undefeated on the season at 11-0 overall and
1-0 in the OAC.
The Purple Raiders held their own as they had 14 shots
to 17 for the host Yellow Jackets.
Both Baldwin-Wallace goals came in the first half as the first
goal came on a Cory Kovach penalty kick in the 22nd minute, while
Jeff Grater tacked on the second score in the 39th minute.
Bobby Petras (Columbia/Columbia Station) had three saves in
goal for Mount Union.
The Raiders next play Wednesday at 4 p.m. in an OAC match
at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.
