Pellerite 23 first half points surpassed his career-high of 22
points which he had last season at Otterbein. He finished
with 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting as the Purple Raiders ran out
to leads of 8-0 and 18-8 to start the game before taking a 45-29
lead at the half.
Mount Union would extend the lead to as many as 31 points in the
second half, going onto the 92-61 victory.
Aside from Pellerite, seniors Luke Conley (Louisville/Louisville)
and Jay Mathis (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) scored 13 and 10 respectively
as 13 different Raiders cracked the scoring column.
Mount Union next plays Penn State-New Kensington at 6 p.m. Friday
in the opening round of the Geneva College Tornado Tip-Off
Tournament in Beaver Falls, PA.
