Women's Basketball Goes Cold to Take First OAC Loss

Sophomore Lauren Forquer (North Canton/Green) came off the bench to tally a career-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds, while freshmen Nancy Faulhaber (Parma/Holy Name) and Amanda Rose (Uniontown/Green) each had 12 points to pace Mount Union (5-2, 2-1 OAC).

Jessica Butzer and Amanda Schroeder each scored 13 points to lead the Baldwin-Wallace (4-3, 1-2 OAC) to its first OAC win of the season.

The Yellow Jackets opened the first half on a 14-5 run and the B-W lead grew to 10 with 4:11 remaining in the period. Mount Union rallied with an 11-3 run culminating in a three-pointer from Faulhaber to make the score 32-30 with 1:52 left before the break. B-W entered the locker room with a 34-30 advantage.

B-W opened the second half with a quick 6-0 run, but the Purple Raiders once again rallied to cut the Yellow Jacket lead to two, at 47-45, when Rose scored on a layup at the 8:40 mark.

However, the Jackets responded with a 16-4 run to make the score 63-49 with 2:15 remaining. Six of Schroeder's 13 points came during the run, leading B-W to the 67-54 victory.

Mount Union next plays Saturday at 3 p.m. in an OAC game at Otterbein College in Westerville.
