The Purple Raiders have now won three of its last four games and
now stand at 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, while Otterbein while
Otterbein is 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the OAC.
Freshman Amanda Rose (Uniontown/Green) and sophomore Katie
Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) each scored 10 points to lead a
balanced attack for Mount Union.
Katy Miller scored a game-high 17 points to lead Otterbein.
With the score tied at 29 at halftime, Otterbein opened the
second half on a 9-0 run to take a 38-29 lead with 16 minutes to
play. Mount Union answered quickly with a 9-0 run capped by a
Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) to knot the contest at 38 at
the 12:31 mark. After a two more ties and lead changes
another Pohovey three-pointer would give the Raiders a six-point
advantage, 56-50 with 1:38 to play. Mount Union would then go
4-of-4 from the line in the final minute to lock up the win.
Mount Union will take 10 days off for the holidays returning to
the court Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. at Hiram College in Hiram,
Ohio.
