Wiedt's second half paced a Mount Union (4-1, 1-0 OAC) second
half rally that saw the Purple Raiders erase a 10-point
deficit on their way to tallying 53 second half
points.
Muskingum (4-1, 0-1 OAC), which shot 58-percent (14-of-24) in
the first half and led 34-28 at the break, held a 40-30 lead when
Mallory Moore hit a three-pointer with 18:56 to play.
Wiedt then took over as she nailed four three-pointers to
highlight a 23-7 Mount Union run over the next 10 minutes to
give the Raiders a 55-47 advantage.
Muskingum would get to within four points, 67-63, with 1:54
remaining, but a pair of free throws from freshman Amada Rose
(Uniontown/Green) and Wiedt's final three-pointer would
push lead back out to nine points, 72-63 and put the game away.
Rose finished with 14 points while sophomore center Lauren
Forquer (North Canton/Green) had 10 points and a team-best eight
rebounds as the other Raiders in double figures.
Tiffany Youel had 20, Suzanne Nichols posted 18 and Jessica
McKenzie had 16 to lead the Muskies.
Mount Union is home again next Saturday against Heidelberg
College in an OAC game.
