(ALLIANCE, OH)-Mount Union College's men's soccer team won its
second straight game with a 1-0 win over Hiram College Wednesday at
Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders survived a physical affair as there was a
combined 33 fouls and eight yellow cards to lift
their record to 3-2 overall, while Hiram took its first loss
of the season at 3-1 overall.
After a scoreless first half, Mount Union junior Brian Mogus
(Canton/Canton South) scored the game's only goal off a deflection
in the box in the 56th minute.
Junior Bobby Petras (Columbia Station/Columbia) made
five saves to earn his third shutout of the season.
Mount Union takes a week off before taking on Washington &
Jefferson (PA) College Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in Washington,
PA.
