The Purple Raiders missed some opportunities, especially in the
second half, as they failed to make a field goal the final 2:27 of
the game and made just 7-of-27 (26-percent) in the second
half. A back and forth first half saw Ohio Northern lead by
as many as seven, 20-13 before Mount Union finished the half on a
14-5 burst to take a 27-25 lead at the half.
Mount Union falls to 10-4 overall and 5-3 in OAC action,
while Ohio Northern now stands tied with the Raiders
at 5-3 in the conference and 7-8 overall.
Mount Union senior forward Stephanie
Schwartz (Farmdale/Maplewood) had game-highs and
career-bests with 14 points and eight rebounds, but was the
only Raider in double figures.
Emily Culbertson had 12 points and Alisha Rinehart tallied 11
points to lead Ohio Northern.
Mount Union stays home to close out the first half of the OAC
schedule hosting John Carroll next Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in
Timken Gymnasium.
