Women's Basketball Rallies to Stay Undefeated with Overtime Win at Ohio Northern

Sophomore forward Amanda Rose (Uniontown/Green) scored all 19 of her points in the second half and overtime along with a game-high 14 rebounds to keep Mount Union undefeated at 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the OAC.

Freshman guard Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) had 17 points and senior guard Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) had 13 points as the other Purple Raiders in double figures.

Morgan Dumbaugh had a game-high 27 points to lead Ohio Northern (3-4, 1-2 OAC).

Ohio Northern led 36-28 at halftime and extended the lead to 51-40 on a three-pointer by Dumbaugh with 12:50 left in regulation.

Mount Union chipped away and found themselves down 64-57 with 2:30 left in the period when Pohovey took over as she scored eight points in a 10-3 Raider surge that tied the game at 67 at the end of regulation.

Rose would score six points, two from the line with 10 seconds to go to put the game away as the Raiders would outscore Northern 11-9 in the extra session.

Mount Union takes next week off for final exams and returns home to host Heidelberg Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3 pm at The MAAC.
