Women's Basketball Stays Perfect With 77-58 Blowout of Wilmington

Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) was also perfect as she was 4-of-4 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 overall for a game-high 14 points to lead Mount Union.

Katie Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) and Lauren Forquer (North Canton/Green) each had 12 points and Erin Schmidt (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) scored 10 off the bench as the other double figure scores for the Purple Raiders.

Kortney Kin had 12 points to lead Wilmington (2-3, 1-2 OAC).

There were six lead changes and a pair of ties before Mount Union held a 27-25 lead with five minutes left in the first half.  The Raiders finished the period on a 9-1 burst to take a 36-26 lead at the break.

Mount Union opened the second half just like it finished the first opening the half on an 11-2 run as a Schmidt layup with 15:21 to play gave the Raiders a commanding 47-28 lead.  Wilmington got no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Mount Union will play a pair of OAC games on the road next week Wednesday at John Carroll (7:30 pm) and Saturday at Ohio Northern (3 pm).
