Freshman Brittany Kilgore (Northfield/Nordonia) and junior
Taylor Hartung (Canton/Massillon Perry) both had big nights off the
bench for the Purple Raiders. Kilgore had a
team-high 14 points and eight rebounds and Hartung had 13
points. Both were season highs.
Rounding out the double digit scorers for Mount Union were
senior Tessa Pahovey (Starsburg/Tuscarawas Valley) with 12
points and freshman Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) with 10
points.
The Blue Streaks, who fall to 2-5 on the season and
1-2 in the conference, were led by Lee Jennings with 29
points.
Mount Union leading 38-35 at halftime, opened the second half on
a 19-8 run capped by a pair of Pahovey free throws that made the
score 57-43 with 12:18 left to play.
The Raiders maintained a double digit lead the rest of the way
to go on to the victory.
Mount Union remains on the road traveling to Ada, Ohio to
face Ohio Northern Saturday, December 19 at 3 pm.
