Mount Union evened its overall mark at 12-12 and at 6-11 in the
conference will be the No. 7 seed and play a quarterfinal game at
7:30 p.m. next Wednesday at the No. 2 seed.
With the loss, Marietta falls to 12-12 overall and at 7-10 in the
OAC is locked into the No. 6 seed and play at No. 3 seed next
Wednesday.
Switzer's decisive bucket gave him a game-high 17 points, while
Dave Pellerite (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) had 13 points as the
other Raider in double digits.
Kevin Knab and Trevor Halter came off the bench with 16 and 12
respectively to pace the Pioneers.
Mount Union led 32-25 at the break and extended that lead to 55-35
on a Trevor Groot (Uniontown/Lake) layup with 9:38 left in the
game. Marietta then outscored the Raiders 25-5 over the next
eight minutes when an Isaiah Creasap three-pointer with 54 seconds
left tied the game at 60. Switzer hit his shot and the
Pioneers missed three chances to tie the game in the final 30
seconds.
Mount Union closes out the regular season at home Saturday at 3
p.m. against Ohio Northern at Timken Gymnasium in Alliance.
The annual alumni game will be at 1 p.m. Saturday and this
year's senior class will be honored prior to tip-off.
