The Purple Raiders improve to 15-8 overall and keep their
chances of hosting an OAC Tournament game alive as they stand at
10-7 in the OAC.
Marietta falls to 2-22 overall and remains winless in the
conference at 0-17.
Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) led the way for the Raiders
with 14 points and Taylor Hartung (Canton/Massillon Perry) and
Katie Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) both added 10.
Amanda Carraher scored a game-high 14 points to lead Marietta.
Just six minutes into the game the score was tied at 6-6 then Mount
Union scored 10 straight points to take control then used another
10-0 burst to outscore the Pioneers 32-10 in the remainder of the
half to go into the locker room up 38-16. The Raiders led by no
less than 19 points the rest of the way to win the game.
Mount Union finishes the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ohio
Northern.
