Wilmington Uses Late Run to Upset Women's Basketball in OAC Tourney

Wilmington (19-7) advances to the semifinals Friday night at 8 p.m. where they will face top-seeded Capital University at The Capital Center, while Mount Union finishes its season at 16-9 which is the most wins in a season since 19 wins during 1998-99 season.

Mount Union, which led 24-21 at halftime, extended the margin to 55-46 on a Tessa Pohovey (Strasburg/Tusky Valley) jumper with 9:32 to go.  Wilmington scored 10-straight points over the next nine minutes and retook the lead 56-55 on a jumper by Kortney Kin.

Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) then came right back and nailed her fifth three-pointer of the game to put the Raiders back on top 58-56 but the Quakers tied the game on a basket from Olivia Waters then went up for good on a three-pointer from Andrea Anderson.

Kin, the OAC's leading scorer on the season, tallied a game-high 25 points, while Waters and Claire Brown each had 10 points for Wilmington.

Wiedt finished the game with six three-pointers and led Mount Union with 20 points as the Raiders matched with a school-record with 13 made three-pointers.  Katie Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) was the only other Mount Union player in double digits with 13.
