The Purple Raiders (10-2 overall) took a 3-2 (19-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-12) loss #8 Hope then came back with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-21) win over Edison Community College on Friday.
Then on Saturday Mount Union came back with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-16) loss to #10 Calvin before getting a win against Alma (MI) 3-1 (25-13, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16).
"Hope and Calvin are two great programs, but we were are own worst enemy as we made way too many mistakes to win," commented Mount Union head coach Leigh Ann Matesich. "We still have two more matches before conference play starts and we need to work hard to be ready."
Mount Union begins a three-match homestand Wednesday at 7 pm against Hiram College at The McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
