Baldwin-Wallace never trailed and dominated the glass
out-rebounding the Purple Raiders, 44-27 and vaulted themselves
into a first place tie in the OAC now 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the
OAC.
The Yellow Jackets got 22 points from Amanda Schroeder and 15
from Nancy Coulter.
Mount Union had its worst shooting (14-of-56, 25-percent) and
lowest scoring (53) night of the season as it fell to 12-1 overall
and 5-1 in the OAC. Katie Crider (Brunswick/Brunswick) had 12
points off the bench as the only Raider in double figures.
Mount Union converted only 9-of-31 shots in first half and
trailed by as many as 10 points, before B-W took a 34-27 lead into
the lockers.
Baldwin-Wallace would extend the lead to as many as 14 points in
the second half, before Mount Union rallied late to close the gap
to four points, 52-48 when Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted)
hit a three pointer with 5:32 to play. The Raiders would then
go four minutes without a field goal and only score five points the
rest of the way as B-W went on to the 65-53 win.
