Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union took another step toward securing a
bid in the Ohio Athletic Confernece Men's Soccer Tournament with a
hard fought 1-1 double overtime tie with Baldwin-Wallace Tuesday
night at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders now stand at 8-5-2 overall and at 3-2-1 in
the OAC have 10 points and are in fifth place by themselves with
three matches to play.
Baldwin-Wallace is 8-5-4 overall and at 1-3-2 (5 pts.) in the
OAC also keeps its post-season hopes alive.
Mount Union got on the board the first on as Leo Hicks
(Leetonia/Cardinal Mooney) fired a shot from 23 yards out that got
by the near post in the 36th minute.
B-W responded seven minutes later in the 43rd minute as Tyler
Leister crossed the field to Pat Brennan who beat the keeper from
15 yards out.
Both teams had their share of opportunities as the Raiders had
10 corner kicks between the second half and overtimes.
Ryan Hullings had 10 saves in goal for the Jackets, while Jon
Critell (Youngstown/Cardinal Mooney) stopped seven for the
Raiders.
Mount Union next plays defending conference champion Capital
Saturday at 12 pm in Columbus.
