Box Score 2 ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union volleyball team dropped a pair of five-set matches on Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex -- the first to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Otterbein and the second against Case Western Reserve.
Roni Schroeder (Shelby/Shelby) led the attack with 15 kills in a 16-25, 25-27, 25-23, 27-25, 17-15 loss to Otterbein.
Monica Hupertz (Willoughby Hills/Beaumont) added 12 kills and Deanna Glass (Medina/Medina) had 11 while Julie Radigan (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) made 52 assists.
Defensively, Sarah Dean (Strongsville/Walsh Jesuit) had 20 digs and Schroeder finished with four total blocks.
In the nightcap, the Purple Raiders fell to the Spartans, 29-27, 22-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-10.
Schroeder and Glass had 19 kills apiece while Hupertz smashed 16.
Radigan had 61 assists and Dean made 54 digs.
Mount Union will be the No. 4 seed in the OAC Tournament. It will host Baldwin-Wallace on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a first-round matchup.
The Purple Raiders (20-10, 6-3) won the regular-season match between the teams on Oct. 19 -- a 3-0 decision.
