Box Score UNIVERSITY HTS., Ohio --As a lake effect snowstorm blanketed Cleveland in heavy snow, the No. 17 ranked John Carroll forced a season-high 22 Mount Union turnovers that acted as an avalanche as the Purple Raiders fell 90-65 in an Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup Wednesday.
John Carroll (6-1, 2-0 OAC) ran out to a 13-3 lead as Mount Union (2-5, 1-1 OAC) committed turnovers on its first four possesions.
The Blue Streaks forced 12 Raider turnovers in the first half and turned those into 18 points as they ran out to a 15-point lead at the break (47-32) and extended that to as many as 29 points (86-57) before the 25-point final.
Conor Tilow had 15 points to lead four John Carroll players in double figures.
Dave Pellerite (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) was the only Mount Union player in double figures as he had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Mount Union continues a season-opening nine-game road swing Saturday at 4pm at Capital in Columbus.
