Wilmington (19-7) got 21 points and 11 rebounds from senior
forward Brandon Rodgers to win its first OAC Tournament game since
2006. The Quakers will take on Capital in the semifinals
Friday at 8 pm at John Carroll.
Junior forward Dave Pellerite (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) had a
game-high 25 points while sophomore forwards Matt Wier (New Castle,
PA/Mohawk) and Jimmy Wood (Wintersville/Indian Creek) had 12 and 10
points respectively to lead Mount Union (11-15).
Wilmington never trailed in the game and led by seven, 34-27 at the
half.
Mount Union closed to within a point, 41-40 midway through the
second half but missed on three straight possessions to gain the
lead.
The Quakers then put the game away with a 10-2 run and went on to
the victory.
