Box Score 2 HOLLAND, Mich. -- Mount Union's volleyball team swept
Cornerstone for head coach Leigh Ann Matesich's 100th career win,
but then fell to ninth-ranked Calvin (Mich.), at Hope (Mich.) on
day two of the Midwest Classic.
Roni
Schroeder (Shelby/Shelby) made 10 kills and Deanna Glass
(Medina/Medina) contributed eight during Matesich's milestone
victory. Julie Radigan
(Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) added 34 assists and Sarah Dean
(Strongsville/Walsh Jesuit) had 31 digs, helping the Purple Raiders
(1-3) to a 25-23, 25-24, 25-20 final.
In the day's second match -- a 25-23, 25-17, 25-23 loss to
Calvin -- Schroeder and Monica Hupertz
(Willoughby Hills/Beaumont) had five kills apiece, Radigan made 20
assists and Dean came through with 16 digs for Mount Union.
The Raiders will return to action on Tuesday when they visit
Malone for a 7 p.m. start.
