GREENVILLE, Pa.--The Mount Union men's tennis team defeated Thiel (Pa.), 8-1, in its first road match of the season Tuesday evening.
Brothers Nate and Nick Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) opened the match with victory at No. 1 doubles as the Purple Raiders swept the three doubles matches. Nate, a junior, then won No. 1 singles while Nick, a freshman, won No. 2 singles.
Patrick Yackmack (Mantua/Twinsburg), Ben Swope (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), and Drew LeGendre (Toledo/Bowsher) also earned singles victories for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union returns to action Thursday when they travel to Erie, Pa. to take on Penn State-Behrend. The match was rescheduled from last Friday.
