ERIE, Pa.—Mount Union's men's tennis team delivered its second straight 8-1 road victory Thursday night at Penn State-Behrend to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Freshman Nick Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) won No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-2) to remain unbeaten in his young collegiate career. He also teamed with his older brother, Nate, to win No.1 doubles, 8-6, to also remain unbeaten in doubles play.
They are not the only Purple Raiders that have yet to be beaten in doubles play. Naoya Kitamura (Yokohama, Japan) and Marcus Suffolk (Canfield/Canfield) won No. 3 doubles, 8-2, to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Drew LeGendre (Toldeo/Bowsher), Patrick Yackmack (Mantua/Twinsburg), and Ben Swope (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) also picked up singles victories for the Purple Raiders.
Mount Union has completed the fall portion of their schedule and will return to action on Saturday, February 25th at Westminster (Pa.).
