MARIETTA, Ohio—The Mount Union men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 3-3 draw at Marietta Saturday afternoon. The Purple Raiders (6-4-2, 1-0-2) have now tied their last two matches.

Thomas Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney) opened the scoring with a goal in the 29th minute. A Marietta goal late in the first half sent the teams into halftime tied at one.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Kevin Cindric (Willowick/Eastlake North) positioned a cross in the box that Anthony Grenga (Boardman/Canfield) was able to direct into the net with his head for Mount Union to regain the lead.

Marietta responded with two goals of their own, the second coming with 5:13 remaining in the second half, to take the lead. With defeat seeming inevitable, Joey Trocchio (Ravenna/Rootstown) scored his first collegiate goal on a ball that deflected off the keeper as he attempted to clear the ball.

Both teams took five shots in the two overtime periods, but neither was able to manage a goal. Jon Critell (Youngstown/Cardinal Mooney) recorded three saves for Mount Union. Chris Stollar made nine saves for Marietta (1-9-1, 0-2-1).

Mount Union returns to action Tuesday night when they travel to University Heights to take on John Carroll.
