ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union men's tennis team defeated Marietta, 7-2, in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Monday.

Zach Perry (Hudson/Hudson), Nate Fockler (North Canton/North Canton Hoover), Patrick Yackmack (Mantua/Twinsburg) and Yasuhiro Anno (Fukucka, Japan/Kyushu Kokusai Daigaku Fuzoku) were winners in both singles and doubles action.

Perry won the first singles match over Teddy Daub, 6-1, 6-1, while Fockler defeated Dave Koscielny, 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 2 match.

Yackmack won the third singles match against Ryan Wong, 6-4, 6-4; Anno bested Mike Carpenter at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-2; and Jeff Looker (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) won at No. 6 singles against Abdul Sheikh, 6-4, 6-3.

In pairs action, Anno and Perry teamed for an 8-3 win over Daub and Carpenter in the No. 1 doubles match.

Fockler and Yackmack added an 8-2 victory against Koscielny and Ryan Gontero at second doubles.

The Purple Raiders will be in action again on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. OAC home match against John Carroll.
