Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Muskingum 1-0 Tuesday evening in New Concord, Ohio.
With the win, the Purple Raiders improve to 4-8-1 and 2-4 in the OAC, while Muskingum falls to 5-8-3 and 2-4 in conference play.
The Raiders scored the game winning goal in the 78th minute, when senior Leo Hicks (Leetonia/Cardinal Mooney) passed the ball to fellow senior Brant Schonauer (Walhonding/River View), and Schonauer buried the ball into the goal. The goal marked Schonauer's first goal of the season as well as Hicks' first assist.
Muskingum outshot Mount Union 13-12 for the match. Senior Jon Critell (Youngstown/Cardinal Mooney) saved all four shots for his fifth shutout of the season, and extends his school record of career shutouts to 21.
