ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union volleyball team outscored Muskingum 25-5 in the second set - its largest margin of victory in a single set this year - and cruised to a three-set win (25-20, 25-5, 25-12) on Tuesday night in Alliance, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders, who moved up two spots to no. 14 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll earlier this evening, are now a perfect 6-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Mount Union has now won 12 consecutive sets since dropping a 3-1 match to to third-ranked Wittenberg on Oct. 5.  

Sophomores Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic) and Mel Patterson (Mentor/Lake Catholic) each had nine kills to pace the Raiders.  Sophomore Lauren Mastroine (Orrville/Orrville) led Mount Union with 16 digs and senior Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) followed with 13.  Freshman Kristen Kayser (Oregon/Clay) finished the match with 21 assists and senior Dee Glass (Medina/Medina) tallied five blocks for the Raiders.

The victory propelled Mount Union's overall record to 19-5.  Muskingum fell to 15-12 and 3-4 in the OAC.

Mount Union takes its four-game winning streak into Westerville, Ohio, for a Friday night bout with 12th-ranked Otterbein, which came into the evening at 5-0 in the conference.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
