ALLIANCE, Ohio – No. 2 ranked Mount Union beat Otterbein 77-62 in an Ohio Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday December 15 at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders (8-0, 3-0 OAC) got a career-high 21 points from junior Amanda Turner (Wooster/Wooster) going 7-10 from behind the three point arc, one shy of tying the record of eight in a game held by Allie Graf against Muskingum in the 2002-2003 season.

Senior Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) and sophomore Aly Daniel (Willard/Willard) each chipped in 17 and 10 points respectively for the Raiders.

Leading the way for the Cardinals (6-2, 2-1 OAC) was senior Hannah Day with a game-high 23 points.

The Raiders, who never trailed in the game, held a 22-21 lead with 6:21 left in the first period when they went on a 9-2 run to take the largest lead of the half 31-23. Turner scored all nine points in the run with three three-pointers. Mount Union would lead 37-30 at the break.

The Raiders open the second half outscoring Otterbein 24-10 over the first nine minutes to put the game away.

Mount Union would lead by as many as 25 before the 77-62 final.

Mount Union plays again Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the MAAC in an OAC game against Baldwin Wallace.
