ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union junior point guard Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) became the 12th player in school history to go over 1,000 career points in the No. 10 ranked Purple Raiders 87-56 win over Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference game at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.

Mount Union (19-1, 12-1 OAC) won its 14th straight game, 20th straight at home and stays in first place in the conference.

LaMattina led the Raiders with 17 points while junior guard Tierney Allen (Alliance/Alliance) had a career-high 15 points and senior guard Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) had 14 points.

Hannah Nelson had a game-high 22 points for Muskingum (8-12, 3-10 OAC).

With the score tied at four in the game's first two minutes, Mount Union went on a 19-3 run to lead 23-7 then after a Muskingum basket the Raiders scored 10 more points in a row to lead 39-9 with five minutes left in the half. Mount Union led 45-14 at the half.

NOTES - LaMattina (1,008 points) is second Mount Union player to go over 1,000 points this season as senior Kori Wiedt (now with 1,130 points) went over earlier this season.  Fellow senior Amanda Rose (Green/Green) now has 979 points.
