WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Mount Union volleyball team wrapped up its stay at the Capital/Otterbein Tournament with a 3-0 win over Bethany after dropping Sunday's opener to third-ranked Calvin.

Mount Union dropped the opening set to Calvin 25-17 but played well throughout the remainder of the match.  The nation's third best team topped the Raiders by just two and three points, respectively, in the final two sets (25-23, 25-22).

But the Raiders bounced back against Bethany just a few minutes later, sweeping the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-17).  Mount Union improved to 2-2 with the win.  The Raiders' two losses at the tournament came to two teams ranked in the top ten in the nation (Hope, Calvin).  Mount Union entered the season ranked 18th.

Senior Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Raiders will have six days off before its next two matches on Sept. 7 against Clarkson (N.Y.) and Cortland State (N.Y.) at the Golden Flyer Invitational in Rochester, N.Y.
