The Mount Union men's tennis team begins its 2012-13 campaign on Sept. 21 at Penn State-Behrend.
The Purple Raiders finished the 2011-12 season fourth in the OAC with 13-6 record overall and went 6-3 in conference play.
In the first round of the OAC conference tournament, Mount Union was defeated by fifth-seeded John Carroll. Freshman Nick Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) led Mount Union players with an overall singles record of 16-4. The dynamic duo of brothers Nick Fockler and Nate Fockler led all players with an overall doubles record of 18-1.
Junior Nate Fockler and Nick Fockler earned second team all OAC honors.
For the 2012-2013 season, the Raiders return all eight players from last year and have six incoming freshman.
Mount Union will play two other matches in the fall section of the 2012-13 season at Mount Union tennis courts on Sept. 28 (Franciscan) and Oct. 5 (Thiel, Pa.)
