COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mount Union's women's volleyball team, ranked No. 9 in the nation, defeated Capital 3-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon in the Capital Center.

The Purple Raiders improved to 24-3 overall and 5-0 in the OAC as the Crusaders move to 13-12 and 1-4 OAC.

In the 25-12, 25-17, 25-18 three set sweep of Capital, Mount Union was led by junior Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic) who had eight kills and 14 digs. Senior Taylor Webb (Geneva/Geneva) and sophomore Kara Berger (Mentor/Mentor) each tallied seven kills.

Junior Lauren Mastroine (Orrville/Orrville) recorded 30 digs as junior Sarah Schleich (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) dished out 14 assists. Junior Brittany Woodard (Diamond/Southeast) chipped in with 12 assists.

Capital was led by Olivia Arledge who notched 10 kills as Katie Weilbacher tallied 21 assists and Kelly Leonard recorded 29 digs on the day.

Mount Union returns to the court on Tuesday, October 22 as they square off against Muskingum at 7:00 p.m. for an Ohio Athletic Conference match up in New Concord, Ohio.
