Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio-- Mount Union's men's soccer team lost 3-0 at home to No. 14 Ohio Northern at Mount Union Stadium in the opener of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play.
The Purple Raiders fall to 5-6 and 0-1 in OAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 9-2, and 1-0 in OAC action.
Stephen Perkins put Ohio Northern up 1-0 in the 11th minute off a cross from Keegan Ross and beat goalkeeper Dylan Lias (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Falls) to the back of the net.
The Polar Bears lead scorer Matt Kinkopf would give Ohio Northern the 2-0 going into the half when he made a break to the goal.
Kinkopf would score his second goal of the match in the 82nd minute, to give Ohio Northern the final 3-0.
Lias had three saves on the day, while Coty Lipply (Rootstown/ Southeast) lead the Purple Raiders with three shots.
The Raiders are on the road, when they travel to Marietta, game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
