ALLIANCE, Ohio - - Mount Union's men's tennis team defeated Westminster (Pa.) 9-0 in a non-conference tennis match Friday evening in the Petersen Fieldhouse in Alliance.
With the win, Mount Union moves to 4-0 on the season while Westminster falls to 0-1.
Senior Nate Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) was victorious in the no. 1 singles position as he defeated Nathan Huber 6-2, 6-3.
Nate and his brother sophomore Nick Fockler (North Canton/Hoover) were victorious in the no. 1 doubles position as they defeated Sean Black and Nathan Huber 8-3 and improved their doubles record on the season to 4-0.
Junior Patrick Yackmack (Mantua/Twinsburg) and freshman Dominic Marino (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) were impressive in both of their singles matches as they each won 6-0, 6-0.
Freshman Malcolm Leake (Fremont/Fremont Ross) improved his singles record to 4-0 on the season with a 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Brad Thomas.
The Raiders next match will be February 28 when they travel to Oberlin with the matches starting at 6:30 p.m.
