Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Mount Union men's soccer team gets their first victory of the 2013 campaign as they defeated Geneva (Pa.) 2-1 on Friday afternoon at Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University's opening weekend tournament.
Garrett Masters collected a diagonal ball from Jeremy Troutman to put Geneva up 1-0 at the 4:32 mark over the Purple Raiders. The Raiders wasted no time to even the score at 1 as Chris Felker (Boardman/Cardinal Mooney) found the back of the net from Tom Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney).
Felker would net his second goal of the game and of the first half off a pass from Coty Lipply (Rootstown/Southeast).
Getting the start in the net for the Raiders was Alex Bable (Columbiana/Columbiana) who faced 18 shots and made four saves against the Golden Tornadoes.
The Purple Raiders (1-0) are back in action tomorrow against tournament host Carnegie Mellon at 6:30 p.m.
