Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union men's soccer team advanced to the championship round tomorrow as they defeated Defiance College 2-0, Saturday evening at home.
The Purple Raiders improve to 2-1 on the season while Defiance falls to 2-1.
Junior Thomas Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney) scored first for the Raiders in the 13th minute, his first of the season.
Mount Union continued to generate offense in the first half as junior Coty Lippy (Rootstown/Southeast) would score again in the 21st minute to put the Raiders up 2-0.
Senior Alex Bable (Columbiana/Columbiana) only faced 4 shots as the Raiders outshot the Yellow Jackets 8-5.
Mount Union looks to Bethany (W.Va.) College tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. in the championship match at Mount Union Stadium.
