Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio - No. 6 Mount Union goes to 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference after a 25-13, 25-21, 25-21 straight set victory over Marietta on Tuesday.
Since the 2006 season Mount Union is 9-0 against Marietta, two of which were in the OAC tournament.
This is Mount Union's seventh OAC win in a row and their 14th consecutive regular season OAC road victory. Their last regular season away loss was on October 15, 2011.
The Purple Raiders (19-2, 2-0 OAC) were led by Melanie Patterson (Mentor/Lake Catholic) with eight kills.
Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic), Kara Berger (Mentor/Mentor) and Mallory Sliman (Amherst/Amherst Steele) each had seven kills for Mount Union.
The Pioneers (8-13, 1-2 OAC) were led by Kennedy Clyde with seven kills and 17 digs.
The volleyball team is next in action on Saturday, October 11 as they take on Ohio Northern at home in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
